Evans & Rogers - Tujunga, CA

Evans and Rogers are a powerhouse of two very talented personalities—award-winning vocalist Sharon Evans and singer/impressionist Rick Rogers. Brought together on stage in 2004 at Hollywood’s landmark Pig ’n’ Whistle restaurant, they joined forces in 2006 to form the happiest and most unique variety act in entertainment today.

With a background of classical training and strong jazz influences, Sharon Evans has a voice and delivery that turns heads and makes people stop to listen. As a jazz vocalist, Sharon has worked in the Los Angeles nightclub scene, primarily alongside veteran jazz musician Dan Weinstein. As a guest vocalist, she has performed with Grammy Award-winner Billy Mitchell, Howlett Smith, Phil Crosby, Jr., and many others. She has given performances at venues such as the Ten-20 Club, Spazio, Miceli’s, the Pig ’n’ Whistle, Jax, Joe’s Great American Bar and Grill, Steamers, the Muddy Moose Bar (the Sportsman’s Lodge), and The Hop. Sharon has given solo performances at RagFest, the Tarzana Tunefest and the Culver City Car Show and has provided backup vocals for contemporary rock singer Cindy Alexander, pop/rock singer Esther Valentine and for folk singer/songwriter Tim Dismang.

Gifted with an elastic quality to his handsome face and powerful voice, song-and-dance man Rick Rogers began his entertainment career at age 10, performing in the style of Al Jolson, Eddie Cantor and James Cagney – and giving his expert impressions of the same. His unique talent and boyhood genius – not only as a performer, but also as a self-taught entomologist – landed him on The Steve Allen Show, The Virginia Graham Show, and To Tell The Truth (as the real Rick Rogers). In 2006, at the request of the Cantor family, Rick performed his incredible Eddie Cantor impersonation at Joe Franklin’s comedy restaurant in Times Square, New York City. His tour also included a recreation of an Eddie Cantor 1938 radio broadcast for which he received an award from The Friends of Old-Time Radio convention in Newark, New Jersey.

The combined talents, experience and creativity of Sharon Evans and Rick Rogers have given birth to a style of variety entertainment uncommon in the industry today. Aside from appearances at local venues, festivals and in the occasional film, Evans and Rogers write and produce their own variety show, presenting their unique brand of musical comedy and some of the best performers on stage in the Los Angeles area. Their latest CD is titled “Standing Right Beside a Rainbow.” You can learn more about this dynamic duo at their website, evansandrogers.com.
